La Fira olive oil was born out of a need to help those in the Alicante region of Spain. Alicante is a small region in Spain that was primarily a textile region until jobs were being outsourced to countries where production was cheaper. There was a large number of adults with special needs in the region who instantly lost income streams. La Fira's founder wanted to help solve this problem.
Alicante is a region rich in olive groves that are over 2,000 years old due to the dry and hot climate that olives thrive in.

Travedell Olive Oil Farm Alicante Spain
La Fira oil is the culmination of a time-honored extraction process meticulously refined over centuries. The cold-pressed method we employ, often overshadowed by mass producers prioritizing quantity, is a testament to our commitment to preserving the delicate aromas and flavors of the olives.
By eschewing heat-based extraction, we ensure that the essence of the olives is retained, resulting in a product of exceptional quality. Our olives are handpicked from the ancient orchards nestled in the rocky hills of Cocentaina, Spain, where the tradition of cultivation spans back to the era of the Roman Empire, creating a legacy that has endured for over a thousand years.
Projecte Somiures (Project Smiles)

Our olive oil is not just about the quality and centuries of tradition represented in each bottle. Part of the revenues goes to fund Projecte Somiures (Project Smiles), a foundation that empowers people with special needs in the region of Alicante.
Enjoy a product with centuries of tradition, placed amongst the best in the world, at the same time you will have the opportunity to impact the lives of hundreds of people with a portion of proceeds funding Projecte Somiures (Project Smiles). Enjoy our olive oil, preserve history, and empower people in need.
Terroir and Climate of the Olive Groves
The land and climate where olives are grown greatly affect the flavor of the oil. Spain's dry climate produces smaller olives with a higher concentration of oil, leading to strong, intense flavors. The climate varies across Spain, with the hot, dry south producing robust oils and the cooler north making milder ones.
In Italy, the varied climates create a range of flavors. Coastal regions produce lighter oils, while the inland areas, with hotter summers and colder winters, produce richer, more complex oils. Italian olive trees often yield larger fruit compared to those in Spain.
